In the Studio with John Vanderslice and more!
So….I’m back in Oklahoma now after a whirlwind trip to San Francisco to record with John Vanderslice at Tiny Telephone. Miss Anne Lillis was also there to add some wonderful percussion and we can’t wait for you to hear the finished product! I’ll be recording a few more things throughout August and trying to survive the crazy heatwave (so many days over 105 degrees I can’t believe it!).

The Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards have the voting up on their website for this years APCMAs and we need everyone to go register and vote! I’m up for Best Folk CD (for You Understood), Aboriginal Songwriter of the Year, and Single of the Year (for Santa Fe) so please go vote for me! You can vote until August 18th so go quick!
In news that is a few weeks old, I was over in Scotland and England for two great roots festivals and really enjoyed myself and getting to play for the UK crowds for the first time despite my overwhelming experience with jetlag. I’ll see you all again in October and November so check out the upcoming UK and Europe dates! I stopped through Edinburgh too (even though I didn’t play there) and thought it was one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever been to! I can’t wait to go back (and I will be in November thanks to Matthew from Songs, By Toad (www.http://songbytoad.com/)).
And even before that we were up in Vancouver and Winnipeg for their respective folk festivals. I would like to give a big thank you to the Winnipeg Police Department for locating my stolen guitar! I thought I would never see it again. I was very impressed by their attention to a non-Canadian, non-Winnipeg citizen. BRAVO! Both Folk Festivals were great and we got to hang out with some amazing musicians and see some great acts!
Alright….more is brewing in the pot lovelies so I’ll be in touch!
